Apartment Review for Abington Apartments - Indianapolis, IN

We just got robbed 10/6/09 through the door that had been damaged since we moved in. We told them that we had told them that it needed to be fixed 3 different times and it was never written down so when asked how we put in a maintenance order as they requested they said that we should tell them and they would document it. We said that we had done that 3 times and they said it wasn't in our files. I said that then their employees had not done their job because they were told and didn't document it. Rachel, the manager, said that that is why they had fired some of their office help. And we said, well then that was not our fault, and it should have been fixed to deter the robbery. They will not let us out of our lease even though they didn't stand up to their part, I feel threatened, and we lost all of our electrical things, including a 50 in. plasma tv, 2 laptop computer, a gps, and many games for our game box. If you haven't already made that mistake, by all means do not move in to Abington Apt. in Indianapolis. Good luck on your apt hunting.... I am not a bad person and up until this confrontation, we have been the perfect tennants in spite of all the bad things that happen in this neighborhood. I was scared and called 911 3 times to get the police to come and even though the complex has a police man that works in the office who says he is on duty 24 hours as a cop, the police didn't show up until 2 hours after the first call and the only time that the onsite cop came was when the police showed up (after 2 hours) and then he just came and talked to him outside and and delayed him even more from coming in to investigate our robbery. Sorry, I hate to say bad things about anything, but please rethink this place even though it looks quaint on the surface.
