Apartment Review for Beechmill Apartments - Indianapolis, IN

My fiance and I moved here in the beginning of July. My sister lived here about 4yrs ago and loved it. We put $100 down to hold the apt we were shown that day. A month later, with our moving truck, we came to move in our apt. The office worker gave us our key but when we went to the door it wouldn't work. We went back to her and she informed us that that wasn't our apt then directed us to where ours was! I told her we put money down to hold THAT apt but she wasn't helpful at all and told us to just go look at the other one. We were very upset and decided to go back to what we thought was our apt and asked the neighbors if anyone had moved in & they informed us that someone did about a week before! We were in total disbelief because we put money down on that apt with the pond view and pinic table. But we looked at the other apt anyways because we had no choice. We had already set up the utilities in that unit and we had rented a moving truck. When we looked at the apt it was like walking into a nightmare. Floors were disgusting, grease all over the kitchen, marks all over the wall, & the worst part...the tolite was dark brown inside! I was enraged, I took pictures told them that this has to be a joke! She told me we could either move in THAT apt or come back 3 days later on Tue and talk to the manager. Thats when I told them i'm calling my lawyer. That got their attention and eventually we were shown another apt which we moved into because we were told either way the money we put down would be refunded. We were told the oven was in bad shape in the unit and would be replaced...that never happened. I called and called, left messages, tried to go to the office but no one is ever there! Finally I got ahold of them and was NOT pleasant with them. It had been over a month since we moved in! She said she would get right in it and finally we got our oven. But they took our pots & pans that were inside of the bottom drawer and I have called and left messages about that and have never heard back! We also reported the shower wasnt working correctly and that light above the entrance door doesnt work. This was right when we moved in as well. They fixed the shower but after reporting the light above the door 4 TIMES they still havent fixed it! Unbelievable!!! Then today I look and see a bright orange sticker from a towing company sating that if my car isin't moved by Monday it will be towed at MY cost! I don't understand! I live here! My car runs fine and I do drive it! I do use the same space when I park but its always open. So I called them and had to leave a message and noted that I hope I hear from them by Monday or my car could be towed. Ridiculous! They are so nice on the phone and manipulate you into thinking they are capable of a job they CLEARLY can not handle! I am a very patient person and like to believe in the best in people but the management here is no good. There are other issues we have had but I think i've got my point across. Its changed so much since my sister lived here and I would recommend this place to anyone. It will only stress you out.
