Apartment Review for Canal Overlook - Indianapolis, IN

Despite the facts that our apartment was poorly insulated, the ice was never salted or shoveled, nothing has been updated since the late eighties, our friend was stuck in the elevator for an hour and the woman working in the front office asked my husband to "throw her some money," the only thing that really got me angry with Paragon Properties: Canal Overlook Owner Mr. Nasir Butt was that he is taking money from our Renter's garauntee/deposit without authorization. My husband signed a lease with C.O. when he came to Indy as an International Intern, he was told he would receive his rent garauntee no later than the day we moved out. Our last day was March 31st and as of this date we have not received the garauntee. When I joined my husbnd in the apt. we extended the lease by 6 mos. There was never any mention of a short term premium when we all signed the updated lease. They notified us of the premium some months later and although we disputed the increase in rent, they began to take it from our rent garauntee/deposit without informing us!!! We have complained to the Attorney General and the BBB. We are currently considering Small Claims Court as Mr. Butt refuses to give us the money for the alleged premium.
