Apartment Review for Zender Family Partnership - Indianapolis, IN

Where to begin? First off, we moved into a Zender owned apartment in downtown Indianapolis in the middle of the summer. Things started out fine until the first major storm hit. Our downstairs rooms had flooded. It took them three days to even come and look at it. After that, we only had a few problems, door handles falling off, a constant horrible smell, you know, the normal stuff. My roommate and I decided we had enough of the "Zender Experience" and asked about getting a sub leaser. Zender told us we could do that and we just had to send potential candidates to them for review. Two months and four potential candidates later (One of them working as a chemist for Eli Lily), we decided that enough was enough. If Zender was going to reject every candidate, we were just going to sever the lease. We paid the two months rent, plus all the fees associated with it and thought we were done. Today, I received a notice stating that we owed another $600 for cleanup fees. We only lived at this place for about six months, but they were the worst six months ever. I would not recommend renting from Zender, ever. Stay far away from them!
